จบเสธฯ คะแนนดี เลือกที่อยู่                  ประจำ กพ. เพื่อเป็นผู้ ดูแลทหาร
เริ่มบรรจุ ปลด ย้าย ถึงวายปราณ             ทุกด้าน สิทธิ ขวัญ กำลังใจ
แต่ด้วยรัก และชำนาญ การวิเคราะห์    ผู้บังคับบัญชา เห็นเหมาะเปลี่ยนงานใหม่
มาทำงาน สายการข่าว จึงก้าวไกล      เติบใหญ่ เก่งด้าน การข่าวกรอง
ข่าวทัพภาค ข่าว ทบ. ถึง ศรภ.          สืบต่อ เก่งเกินใคร ไม่มีสอง
เป็น ผอ.เปลี่ยนไป อยู่หลายกอง        จึงได้ครอง ตำแหน่งใหญ่ เป็นนายพล
          เริ่มต้น พลตรี ปี ๔๔              อีก ๓ ปี เปลี่ยนยศใหม่ ไปอีกหน
ก้าวหน้า ก้าวไกล กว่าหลายคน          เป็น พลเอก นพดล สมดังใจ
          จากเริ่มต้น บนเส้นทาง สร้างความฝัน      จนถึงวัน เกษียณ อย่างสดใส
ทำเพื่อชาติ ไม่น้อยหน้า กว่าใครใคร           ภาคภูมิใจ รับใช้ชาติ ราช ประชา
หลังเกษียณ ยังเข้มแข็ง ในหน้าที่           เป็นพ่อ เป็นสามี ที่เลิศค่า
ดูแลบ้าน สองบุตรี ศรีภรรยา               ร่วมชีวา สุขสันต์  กัน ๔ คน
ยังคงมี น้ำใจ ให้ผองเพื่อน              ได้เยี่ยมเยือน สังสรรค์ กันหลายหน
ร่วมก๊วนกอล์ฟเพื่อน "หงษ์"เพื่อน"สธน"     เป็นที่รัก ของทุกคน ไม่เปลี่ยนแปลง
          แต่ชีวิต ก็เป็นไป ตาม "ไตรลักษณ์"   พุทธองค์ ทรงชี้หลัก ประจักษ์แจ้ง
ทุกบทบาท คือฉากผ่าน การแสดง      ตามกฎแห่ง " อนิจจัง ทุกขัง อนัตตา "
เกิดขึ้น ตั้งอยู่ แล้วแตกดับ                ถมทับ ทุกข์ทน ทั่วหน้า
บีบบังคับ จับอย่างไร ไม่ได้มา           เป็นไปตาม ห้วงเวลา " กฎแห่งกรรม "
          เพื่อนนพดล ต้องทุกข์ทน เพราะป่วยไข้     กายร้อน แต่หัวใจ ยังชื่นฉ่ำ
" พ่อ-แม่-ลูก " ร่วมสู้ภัย ใช้ใจนำ          ใช้หลักธรรม รักษาใจ ไม่ยอมแพ้
ประคอง สติ ตั้งมั่น                             สั่งความ ทุกสิ่งอัน ไว้แน่วแน่
เตรียมพร้อม น้อมรับ ความปรวนแปร      ฝากเพื่อน ดูแล จัดการงาน
กำลังใจ ครอบครัว หัวใจหลัก                น้ำใจรัก แรงกว่า ยาทุกขนาน
ลูก-เมีย จับมือพ่อไว้ ใจเบิกบาน            ขอเพียงการ อยู่ด้วยกัน จนวันสุดท้าย
          ในที่สุด เพื่อนรัก ก็จากเพื่อน       ทิ้งลูกเมีย ให้เสมือน หัวในสลาย
ตา มองตา น้ำตา ยังพร่าพราย               ถึงทำใจ ก็ไม่ง่าย เหมือนที่คิด
